My favorite song

This song is my favorite song, "Lange of Love". This song is not sung by the person. The voice of this song is electronic sound. This song was made with the computer soft, "Vocaloid".Vocaloid is one of computer softs which YAMAHA CORPORATION sells. The soft is coded the voice whose real existence and sounds of various instrument. Using this soft, although laymans can compose their original song easily. Today, a lot of people conpose and release their songs on video site, like YouTube.  I love beautiful melody and bittersweet words.Please try to listen one time.

Cosmetic Surgery: group 4

We talked about the cosmetic surgery. Our member are Sakurako, Mai, Saori, Shino.

  Sakurako talked about two demerits of cosmetic surgery. First demerit is that getting cosmetic surgery needs a lot of money. Second demerit is that few Japanese people accept cosmetic surgery. She told that the person who got cosmetic surgery might be segregated. I though that she should talk about the prejudice of cosmetic surgery more closely.

  Mai talked about merits of cosmetic surgery. She said that people would be confident in themselves if they got cosmetic surgery. Also, she said that aspiration of fat will make people healthy. I haven't thought that idea. So her opinions was new.

Saori talked about dangers of cosmetic surgery. orthopedic surgery is not guaranteed by medical insurance. She talked about a woman who got cosmetic surgery  and the operate was failed. I thought her presentation was very impactive because of the real story.

Shino said that cosmetic surgery may broke the relationship between our family. Cosmetic surgery changes our face which resembles our parents. That  brokes the relationship between our family.

I think that we should not get cosmetic surgery easily. Today, cosmetic surgery became more cheaper and being not complex, and many people get operation easy. To be sure, cosmetic surgery bring many merits to people. But we should not forget that there are many dangerous or demerits too.

BR1-03 : Rumpelstiltskin

I read this story when I was an elementary student. At that time,  I thought this was an irrational story.  The heroine of this story was made an unreasonable demand by the king because of his father's lie. And , she almost got half killed. I have become an adult and I read those stories afresh, I think the Grimm Fairy Tales has many barbarous stories although that is faily tales for children.For example, Cinderella's two sister's-in-low cut their toes to get into the shose.I want to read another story, "Red Riding Hood", Cinderella", Rapunzel".

My favorite animal

I have loved dogs since I was a child. I have two dogs at my family home. Now, I live by myself, so I'm lonely without them. One dog's name is Kai. It was a abandoned dog when it was a puppy. My mother found it and  brought it home. The other's name is Lion.  It had bee kept by another owner. The owner brought it my house two years ago because he become being not able to keep it. If we didn't take them , they would be killed. Today, tens of thousands of dogs and cats are killed every day due due to selfish owners. I think they don't have the right to keep animals. I hope that the number of animals which are killed decreases.

BRI-02: Alice in Wonderland

I have loved this story since I was a child. But it is little difficult to read original book for me because there are a lot of puns and nursery songs.This book is written for small children and I could read easily.Some characters and scenes are omitted to make the story easyier, but I think sharms of this story isn't hurted.  I specially like Chesirecat. It is very interesting and cute.Also, I like the scene which Alice attends mad teaparty and talks wiht Mad Hatter and March Hare.

Difference of humor between Japan and America

At " Language and Culuture", Mr Lavin's class, I learned about difference of humor between Japan and America. We watched "MIDNIGHT RUN" , and listend Amerucan jokes in practice with some script. American jokes are characterized by sarcasm and echoing. For example, on one scene, Walsh (Robert De Niro) says, "I've known you all of 2minutes and already I don't like you." Next, Duke(Charles Grodin) says,"Gee, that's too bad, I really like you." This is one of the sarcasm. Japanese don't say such sarcasm  as this. Also, I learned about difference of comedy. Japanese “manzai” is composed of “tukkomi” and “boke”. Generally, “boke” says absurd things and “tukkomi” points out them. But this style doesn’t catch the public fancy in America. America is composed of various races, so there is not “common sense” in America. For this reason, Japanese style of comedies aren’t accepted by American people.

Dear host family,

Hi! My name is Atsuko Ishibahi. Thank you for accepting me as a host family! I’m a sophomore at university. I study English language and literature there. I’m very interested in British literature. I want to go the graduate school and study British literature in the future. I have liked reading books since I was a child. I especially like “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland”, “ The Chronicles of Narnla”, and “Harry Potter”. Various British lifestyles are written in those books. Also, “Alice” has a lot of puns and nursery songs which peculiar to England. I want to study British literature and culture bring my stay. Please tell me about the nursery songs you know! I like British traditional buildings such as Big Ben and the British museum too. I want to see various spots with you.

I belong to the aikido club at my school now. Do you know aikido? This is one of the traditional martial arts like karate and judo in Japan. And my grandfather is teacher of kendo. So I practiced kendo for three years when I was child too. If you are interested in them, please ask me. I’m going to teach you! They are very interesting sports.

I have some question to ready for this trip. Could you send answer by e-mail? First, what kind of clothes should I bring? It is hard to tell that England is cooler than Japan in summer. Should I bring heavy clothes? Second, please tell me Japanese foods which you want to try to eat. I like cooking. I live alone now, so I learn many recipes. I’m especially good at Japanese foods. I want to cook for you. I going to practice cooking before go to England and make delicious dishes for you! Third, I want to present something Japanese things. Do you have a request?
